Sol started on a terrace.
Not a famous one. A small one, on the wrong side of Ibiza Town, where the music from the big clubs was just loud enough to hear if the wind was right. A group of friends, a cassette deck, somebody's cousin who said he could get them into Amnesia. The summer of 1989.
They came back the following year with a name — Sol — screenprinted onto a run of shirts they'd had made up in Palma over the winter. No plan beyond that. Just the idea that the feeling was worth bottling. The white shirts, the faded type, the sun already halfway down the sky.
Now considered a must have summer accessory across Europe from Ibiza to Croatia.
